What to know about a bespoke linen trouser
The linen trouser works best in a cream, stone, natural, pale grey, or mid-blue. These are the colours that photograph well, age well, and pair broadly across the wardrobe. Darker colours — navy, charcoal — in linen lose some of linen's casual warmth and read as unexpectedly heavy for the fabric.
We cut linen trousers with a slightly fuller seat and thigh than a tight-cut worsted trouser, which allows the cloth to move freely and sit comfortably in the heat. The waistband is typically a straight waistband with belt loops; a high-waist linen trouser with adjustable tabs is a more elegant but slightly more formal alternative.
